It is the policy of the City of Thunder Bay to issue proclamations for matters of important City business only to inform residents of events that are in the public interest.
Proclamations help to create a public awareness of special events and are intended for the betterment of the community. This policy gives Council direction in establishing proclamations and alleviates the costs, accountability and inconsistencies involved in establishing proclamations requested by the general public.
The City Clerk is authorized to have official proclamations published and/or distributed as necessary.
